TTUHSC - Inpatient Pain Management in Adults


The goals of this program are to educate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians about medications used for the management of pain in the inpatient setting, new literature surrounding this topic, and how to best utilize these medications for various patient scenarios.

Requirements for CE Credit

To receive credit you must watch the recorded webinar and complete the post-test. You must receive a minumum of 70% on the post-test at which time you will be prompted to complete a program evaluation form.

Objectives

  • Summarize the mechanisms of action and pharmacokinetic properties of various medications utilized for inpatient pain management
  • Identify common adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with analgesics and prevention or treatment methods
  • Evaluate recent literature surrounding inpatient pain management
  • Develop an appropriate inpatient pain regimen given a patient case
