Nakia A. Duncan, Pharm D, BCGP, BCPS Brief Bio : Nakia Duncan, Pharm.D. BCGP, BCPS is an Assistant Professor of Geriatric Pharmacy Practice at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy on the Dallas/Fort Worth campus with an affiliated practice with UT Southwestern. There she focuses on symptom and supportive care on the palliative care team. She is also a core preceptor for the ASHP-accredited PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacotherapy residency. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Hampton University in 2010 and went on to complete a pharmacy practice residency in New Orleans, LA and a specialty residency in geriatric pharmacotherapy in Baltimore, MD. Her practice and research interests include pain and palliative care management of older adults. She is the author several peer-reviewed publications and has been asked to speak on various geriatrics-focused topics at both Local and National meetings. She is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and the Secretary/Treasurer of the Texas chapter of ASCP Board. She is also an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists.
